Exclusive Dish
Umami Butter Chicken Piccata($28) is an exclusive dish concocted by Chef Sam and Chef Ming Earn. Grilled Bostock chicken in a piccata sauce was infused with a mix of umami butter, lemon juice and capers, served alongside Colcannon mash. We enjoyed the umami butter which complemented the chicken piccata very well, adding another dimension of buttery umami goodness.
This dish is available for a limited time only, from now till 30 September 2023. You can also bag home the Dirty Delicious Umami Butter ($19.98) from the grocer.
Soup & Small Plates
Enjoy a galore of vegetables, seafood, poultry, and meats from the latest woodfired menu. To kick off our smoky gastronomic journey, we had the Prawn & Bourbon Bisque ($14)- a heartwarming and flavourful bowl of bisque, simmered from the shells of prawns and flower crabs, with Wild Turkey bourbon. Two slices of baked in-house sourdough bread were served on the side.
Next, we had 6 small plates; Cured Salmon Tartare ($14), Wood Fired Veggies ($12), BBQ Pork Neck ($14), Smokey Tamarind Glazed Grilled Octopus ($16) and Grilled Portobello Mushroom Bruschetta ($12).
The Cured Salmon Tartare was the top favourite among us, we loved the deep and earthy profile of the New Zealand sakura salmon which was cured in beetroot juice and marinated in gin, coriander and salt.. The small small dollops of tart pickles were refreshing and added a touch of tartiness to the dish.
BBQ Pork Neck($14) is a must-order dish for pork lovers. The pork neck was well seasoned and grilled to perfection, the meat juices simply exploded in our mouths.
Craving for something crispy and earthy? Try the Grilled Portobello Mushroom Bruschetta, bite into a savoury soy toast topped generously with small bits of portobello mushrooms. We loved the overall flavours of the dish but wished for slightly bigger cuts of the portobello mushroom.
Mains
Smoky and fiery meat delights include the Thai -style Organic BBQ Chicken ($30 for half), O’connor Grass-fed Beef Prime Cuts of Striploin, Tenderloin, and Ribeye, Roaring Forties Lamb Cutlets($42 for 250g).
We enjoyed the Thai-style Organic BBQ Chicken- chargrilled Bostock chicken in a sweet, sour, and spicy Thai sauce. The chicken was tender, well seasoned and grilled perfectly, slightly charred on the outside and juicy on the inside.
Next, we loaded up on protein with the O’connor Grass-fed Beef Ribeye, served with sautéed garlic potato & mushrooms. The ribeye was slightly dry for our liking but the béarnaise sauce & red wine sauce certainly uplifted the steak with its tangy and savoury aromatics.
