Our top pick is Mega Truffle Wagyu ($7.90) – the gently-torched smoky wagyu simply melted in our mouths. Next on the list are the enticing Wagyu Tsutsumi ($5.90) and fiery Spicy Wagyu Tsutsumi ($5.90), featuring thinly-sliced A5 Satsuma wagyu served atop rice and a sheet of seaweed, finished with julienned Japanese white leek or crispy garlic layu (Japanese chilli oil). What’s not to love about crunchy leek and piquant spices?

Wagyu with Yuzu Kosho ($4.20) is topped with a flavourful yuzu kosho which complements the beautifully marbled wagyu; while Sukiyaki Wagyu ($4.20) presents hints of sweet and savoury notes, credits to Genki Sushi’s homemade soy-based sauce.
Next, think your childhood favourite tamago and cucumber maki, elevated with wagyu and you will have Wagyu Maki ($9.90). If you cannot get enough of wagyu, do order the Wagyu Mini Don ($9.90) which consists of Australian wagyu slices, shimeji mushrooms, caramelised onions and spring onions served with fluffy rice.
Sweet & Citrusy Treats
Last but not least, we had the tangy and refreshing Yuzu Sorbet ($4.80) and a uplifting Lemon Mont Blanc ($5.80) *directly imported from Japan. These lovely citrusy desserts definitely cleansed our palates after all the wagyu indulgence.
Final Thoughts
All in all, the Wagyu Matsuri menu is affordable and value-for-money given the premium quality of both the Satsuma wagyu and Australian wagyu. Besides, if you are not a beef lover, you will definitely be spoiled by Genki Sushi’s extensive menu, especially scrumptious delights such as Mentai Mayo Fries ($3.90) and Kake Udon ($4.60).
