Frying Fish Club Launches New Sembawang Hills Outlet With Exclusive Unagi Dishes

Frying Fish Club, known for their delicious rendition of Japanese-style fish and chips, has expanded its footprint with a new outlet at Sembawang Hills.

If you are a fan of unagi, this is a spot you will not want to miss. In addition to their classic offerings, this new location introduces exciting exclusive dishes such as an indulgent Unagi Fish and Chips, as well as a fresh Brunch Menu featuring Unagi Toast and Unagi Don

For starters, we enjoyed the Spicy Tater Tots ($8) which added a delightful kick of flavour and spice. It was drizzled generously with a rich and creamy spicy mayo and sprinkled with tasty furikake and ebiko. The Fried Silverfish ($10) was lightly battered and offered a nice crunch with each bite when paired with the seasoned mayo.

We were able to try the famed Unagi Fish and Chips ($29.50) which was a delicious twist on a classic dish. The smoky eel was tender, while encased within a golden and crispy batter exterior. Served with a side of crispy fries, refreshing apple slaw, and creamy tartar sauce, this dish fused the savoury flavours of Japanese eel with the traditional comfort of Western fish and chips.

They have also introduced a new special Brunch Menu available daily from 11am to 3pm. The Unagi Toast ($16) was a standout with creamy scrambled eggs resting atop a soft and fluffy shokupan toast, while the grilled unagi was topped with crispy enoki mushrooms, furikake and spring onion.

On the side, we also had some comforting soup to share with the Unagi Miso Soup ($5) and Saba Miso Soup ($5). Both of which featured generous chunks of fresh fish while the light and tasty soup helped to cut through the richness of the fried dishes.

For vegans, the Natsu and Oyster Mushroom Taco ($15) is a must-try. Dig into crispy fried eggplant nuggets coated in a house-made sweet and sour sauce.
